Leadership

Daryl K. Tom, Principal and Founder

Diablo Advisors is led by Daryl K. Tom, Principal and Founder. Mr. Tom has over 23 years of experience in the healthcare and information technology industry, having served as a senior executive in both large and small healthcare technology and equipment businesses including Philips Medical Systems, HBOC (Now part of McKesson), Eclipsys and HealthVISION. His experience includes leading high-performing implementation, professional services, sales and marketing teams to help healthcare organizations achieve superior outcomes.

Prior to founding Diablo Advisors LLC, Mr. Tom served as a Vice President with Eclipsys Corporation, a leading Healthcare Information Technology vendor, Vice President & General Manager for the Medical IT Division of North America for Philips Medical Systems (a division of Philips Electronics, a Fortune Global 500 company), Vice President for North America & International for HealthVISION Corporation and held a variety of leadership positions in sales, R&D, implementation and consulting services with HBO & Company (McKesson). Mr. Tom has also provided executive leadership for the healthcare IT organization for a large IDN located in the San Francisco Bay Area. His clients have included academic medical centers, multi-facility & multi-regional Integrated Delivery Networks and numerous organizations specializing in Pediatric Care and Oncology Treatment and Research. Mr. Tom was a voting member of the Outcomes Board for El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, California. He has extensive experience leading healthcare IT teams and working with healthcare delivery organizations in the USA, Canada, Europe, United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.

Mr. Tom earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley.

John W. Taylor, Principal

Mr. Taylor has more than 20 years of experience as a leader in the Healthcare Information and Technology industry. He is an expert in clinical transformation and systems implementation. He has worked extensively with health care providers in the areas of clinical system adoption, outcomes measurement, and ambulatory system deployment.

Prior to joining Diablo Advisors, Mr. Taylor was a Vice President for Eclipsys Corporation with responsibility for professional services and field operations. As a Partner with KPMG Consulting, he was a leader in the Healthcare practice. He also founded Greenfield Consulting, and held leadership roles with IBM.

Mr. Taylor holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in Marketing and Organizational Management.
